Using custom-made full circle fish-eye lenses in both still and video Imagery since the early 1990’s, extreme wide angle Lens' create an immersive experience that is both memorable and realistic. This concept plays within McKean's work as different perspectives, or lenses, open people up to a broader view of any setting captured.
Jacob's work continues to elaborate on thematic series of imagery. Whether traveling to a festival, a Safari, alone in a desert, or through a crowded rave, McKean's essence is to capture and document his surroundings, the true ambience of any given situation. Part of Jacob's dedication in his multi media events is to present this unique imagery using the latest technology. Mckean uses various formats such as printing still images in large scale onto a variety of Silks and other materials, while integrating images and video as a source into live digital mixing for LCD Projections. This imagery can then be seen moving on stationary 3D surfaces, providing a new view for any eye.
